» Words From The President
Dennis Ryckman :: Published 8-15-02

Greetings once again. Sorry for the delay between issues. I do have a good excuse though. We've been very busy the past six months. Please allow me to briefly share some highlights with you.

Merger. If you haven't heard, we've expanded. In April, MTP expanded it's services, staff and locations. We brought an advertising and marketing agency into our mix. A point of confusion has been that we also changed our name to Point B.

New Name. Why Point B? Point B symbolizes a goal, a destination, a new level. As an advertising, marketing, software and internet solutions provider, our goal is to help our clients create an identity or brand that sets you apart from your competition. The name implies our commitment to helping businesses get from point a to point b.

Other News. We've been agressively building some new web based products that will soon be available. One is a tool for building and maintaining your own website. There is no initial development cost, just a low monthly fee. The exciting news is the development of an online project management, time and billing system. This is especially useful for businesses such as ourselves who have remote offices. More news announcements to come in the following issues. By the way, the next issue will have a new Point B look and feel.

Hope you enjoy this newsletter and find it useful. If not, then there is no need for either of us to be wasting our time, so let us know your comments. If you like it, let us know and refer us to a friend.

One final note is to inform you that one of our designers, Robert Burke, has decided to leave our company. While we are losing a valuable employee, I want to assure our valued customers that we have a very capable staff to pick up where he leaves off. We wish you well in your endeavors Bob.

Sincerely,
Dennis J. Ryckman - President

» Stopping Junk Mail in Cyberspace
May, Adam, Gerdes & Thompson :: Published 8-15-02

If you are reading our Legal Tips column on the Internet, odds are that you also use e-mail. If you use e-mail, the odds are also incredibly high that you get tons of junk e-mail on a regular basis. I was shocked to recently come back from a two day absence to find 30 e-mails, 19 of which were solicitations or advertisements of various types.

If you have had a similar experience as me, and have made the tips of your fingers raw typing "remove" from the subject line of a responsive e-mail, you may have said to yourself "there ought to be a law." Actually, there may soon be a law.
